Cattiwampus

Here's a fun video that we (mostly Jay, but I helped) made to go with one of his awesome songs with his band, Cheek.  It doesn't seem like slow motion, but it actually is.
We lucked out with the timing and weirdness of that ending.

It's true.  Faces are everywhere.
This one was in the bathroom stall at Mt. Rainier National Park.

Pritchard Beach

This is what Seattle looks like in January.

Craving Sun

Lots of days like this.  I crave sunshine. My LA friends crave rain.  That's how it works.

The Road Not Taken

Exploring my neighborhood.  I found this.
Always nice to find new perspectives to old situations.

To Bowl-dly Go

Congratulations, Seahawks, on winning today and good luck at the Super Bowl!
We've got some frenzied sports love in this fine city.
I raise my Captain Kirk glass of Chardonnay to you, Hawks.

I am a Jedi.

Let me just say, for the record, that I am a badass when it comes to roasting teeny tiny fingerling potatoes.
Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside.

I Miss You, Fun Forest.

Today, I miss the Fun Forest.  I wonder where all these rides  got dismantled and shipped off to.  Billions of happy butts sat in those seats.  Billions of decibels of happy screams, all gone now.  Replaced by an overpriced, ego-driven glass museum whose artist is already ubiquitous in the northwest and has his own museum elsewhere.  I sincerely love fine art, but kids really don't have nearly enough places to hang out for good clean fun in this city.  What a shame.
The children were robbed.

I'm thankful to have had the time I had with this place.  3 birthday parties for my kid, many afternoons with friends and family, and many 15-minute breaks while working at EMP.
Brief, sunny, loud, happy music memories.

Auspicious Finding

Cleaning up, I found a hammer that happened to say "12".   I took this as a good sign for our Seahawks in the Superbowl.  I was right.

Thankful for old Buildings

Here's the malt house section of an old brewery in Georgetown.
At least the whole thing didn't get torn down (but come on---BEER lived here.).
Artists live and work here now, thankfully. So that's something.

Sacred Geometry on my Car

This morning, I was able to catch this on my windshield.  This is the first time I've ever witnessed tiny, 2 mm snowflakes forming their 6-sided geometric brilliance with my naked eyes.  Often, we miss amazing things that are right under our noses.
But not today.

Wintertime Blues

I had to do a factory reset on my phone and lost a bunch of data.  A lot happened.  Snow happened during the second week of February.
 Nature's reset.

Big Art at SAM

This is a Pre-Columbian monolith made from found speakers, on display at the Seattle Museum of Art.  One of the records on the floor was Who's Next.  After this, we saw the Miro exhibit.

I am thankful for art.

Winter ferry ride from Bainbridge Island.
It was a great day.

Goodnight, Y'all.

Thankful for pretty sunsets.  It never gets old to me.

Happy Purple Space Day to You, Kid.

So here's a kid at a birthday party for a 3-year-old, in a dark room, with a glow stick.  It was a purple space party. And that's what being a kid is all about.

Happy Pseudo-Anniversary (latergram)

Did I hit the jackpot or what?  I own this now.  My Leapling husband is groovy.  And when I say that I hit the jackpot, I am referring to him, and not the cowbell.  (But it is definitely a rocking cowbell.)  I am married to an extraordinary, brilliant, talented and kind gentleman.  He plays hippie songs with me on his guitar and makes me nachos and brings me pictures of astronauts.

Latergram: July 15. So this happened completely by accident at Taco Time, a while back.

I felt like I suddenly had too much tortilla on my double-wrapped taco.

And when I pulled off the extra tortilla, my husband and I both gasped when the magical and mysterious Bat Taco appeared.
